🎤 Your Turn: Read a Clue to a Pal
Pick a thing in the picture that has no clue yet (like the CAS·TLE, the SUN, the TREE, or a CLOUD). Say it out loud as a clue: “I spy a … ” Make a pal find it!
📝 Parent note: “Silly clues” that are NOT in the picture are PEN·GUIN and JET·PACK. Answers for Count: catfish = 1, pumpkins = 3, clouds = 3, dragons = 1. The Tiny Critter Hunt requires the child to find the butterfly 🦋, bee 🐝, bird 🐦, and duck 🦆 in the scene. Colour Hunt samples: green = hills/tree, yellow = sun/rug stripes, orange = pumpkins/fire, blue = pond/sky. The closing roleplay (“Your Turn”) is the highest-value reading task — the child invents new clues using the chunked words at the bottom or any other word on the page, then a parent or sibling hunts for it. Use the picture multiple times across sessions.
